Latent Inhibition

and it has nothing to do with asking somebody out in a bar (although…)

Rather it is defined as “an animal's unconscious capacity to ignore stimuli that experience has shown are irrelevant to its needs.” 

I found this article to be very interesting, it has been shown that “creative individuals are much more likely to have low levels of latent inhibition” and that research is starting to show why there is a correlation between madness and creativity.
